Road Trip Dog Bandana

White background with black patterned weaving, like a country highway. May the road be long and your best friend close at hand, with her furry head out the window, lapping up the wind and freedom.

This fabric was woven in Totonicapán, which is located in the Western Highlands of Guatemala and has a population composed largely of K’iche’ Maya. Totonicapán is distinguished by its extensive oak-pine forests, in addition to its artisans which includes not only weavers, but also shoemakers, tinsmiths, potters, leather workers and carpenters.

Artisan Weave

These casual bandanas begin their journey as new fabric that was hand woven by members of a women’s cooperative in the highlands of Guatemala. We work with the artisan weavers to bring their art and imagery to the fabrics we use. We then take these custom fabrics to a small family-run sewing shop outside Chichicastenango, Guatemala to transform them into wearable fun for your pup. By setting their own wages and prices, weavers and sewers have the opportunity to express their creativity while carrying on the tradition of weaving and earning a fair wage.
