Onward!

Onward!

How long has it been since you had that first day of school feeling? The one where you know you’re doing something worthwhile because you’re excited and nervous...a marvelous mix of anticipation and a little fear of the unknown. You have butterflies (or maybe more like a starling murmation), but excitement wins out because soon you’ll see all your friends. Maybe this is the year you’ll find your best friend, the one you know is out there but you haven’t met yet. And then there’s that vulnerable feeling of curiosity, of wonder: Will I ask a dumb question? Will I fit in? Where will I eat lunch and, more importantly, with whom? And there’s math class…But, possibility is the open road in front of you. And possibility is intoxicating.

Well, today feels like the first day of school for me. Yesterday I arrived in Guatemala to receive my first production run of Sam & Nala dog beds, bandanas, jewelry and tote bags. Giddy most closely describes this feeling of wonder and gratitude. With an open heart, I look forward to being “schooled” in the best possible way.

In the coming weeks, I hope you’ll follow along as we launch Sam & Nala. Our next few posts will feature some introductions, play-by-plays, and adventures. Let us know what resonates with you. This project has been brewing in my mind for over a decade. Only when fate put me in the right place did we end up launching out of Guatemala. I’m looking forward to sharing this journey together!

Onward,

Jen
